About Us

People Help Exchange, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to alleviating hunger, preventing housing insecurity, and providing disaster relief in Henry County, GA, and surrounding areas. Founded in 2014, we received IRS tax exemption on February 25, 2015. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our neighbors by providing essential resources that address food insecurity, housing instability, and emergency relief in times of crisis.

Our founders, Jeffrey and Tonya Lewis, know firsthand the struggles of hunger and homelessness. Having faced these challenges themselves, they turned their hardships into a mission to uplift others. Through strong collaboration with our Board Members and Community, they devote their time, finances, and resources to supporting families in need while helping them regain stability.

We fulfill our mission through our monthly food distributions, emergency financial assistance for rent, mortgage, and utility bills, disaster relief efforts, and community goods distributions. In times of natural disasters or local crises, we mobilize quickly to provide food, water, and essential supplies to affected families. Additionally, we offer referrals to partner organizations for extended support.

At the People Help Exchange, we believe that access to nutritious food, stable housing, and emergency relief is a basic human right. We are committed to making hunger, homelessness, and crisis-related hardships rare, brief, and nonrecurring in the communities we serve.

We believe everyone can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
To cultivate an active and engaged community that confronts the escalating challenges of hunger and housing insecurity, fostering a future where everyone stands resilient and secure.
